The Mohawk Atelier has both an elegant and commanding presence on the corner of Duane and Hudson Streets.

The complex consists of two historically significant buildings: one built in 1892 as a Romanesque Revival commercial building and the second built in 1845 and used as a whalebone cutting establishment.

The two buildings are being combined to create residential lofts. The design of the interiors combines classic designs with contemporary finishes.

The project was approved by the Landmarks Preservation Commission in 2008. Construction commenced in 2000 and was completed in 2009.
