1. Generally the interiors of Sailhant are smoke-free (except in the Salon, but only when using a long cigarette-holder while playing bridge, drinking highballs, and listening to Glenn Miller on the stereo).
2. The entrance door is locked at the end of the evening activities. Please do not go for a late night stroll without telling anyone. There is no way in or out until the morning except by waking Joe (which is not suggested, especially after a full evening --see above).
3. The furniture is from the 15th to 19th centuries (so please resist the temptation to break it apart for kindling should you run out of firewood).
4. Dinner is black tie except for the first evening. We are informal during the day (swim suits are optional for sunbathing in the garden and swimming in the Cascade lake ).
5. For the staff, a 10-20 euro thank you left on the night table in your room at the end of your visit is not unusual (more if you have been particularly naughty).
6. The names of the chickens are: Ysabel, Eglantina, and Marquisha
